JCI Petaling Jaya Speed Business Networking Event
Junior Chamber International (JCI) Petaling Jaya Speed Business Networking Event at Full House NZX, Ara Damansara, 22 January 2011
In the fast moving business environment, time is our best commodity. Speed Business Networking allows entrepreneurs to meet other entrepreneurs from diverse background in a short period of time.
JCI Petaling Jaya has created this unique business event to help build and strengthen local businesses, by simply exploring the possibilities of local businesses doing business together.
It is becoming more difficult for most types of businesses to meet their targets, and not all businesses have large marketing budgets to spend on advertising to generate business. Whether starting own business, or have been trading for many years there is no substitute for meeting people in a one-to-one meeting.
JC Tan Hong Wei, Organising Chairman of JCI PJ Speed Business Networking, in his opening remarks reminded that, “As entrepreneurs, we need to manage our three best commodities, namely Time, Energy and Network, effectively and efficiently to shine and excel in business platform.”
"Speed Business Networking" is a 'no-frills' approach for entrepreneurs to come and get involved in making direct face-to- face contact with other entrepreneurs, with the sole purpose of promoting themselves and their business in a cost effective manner.
JC Nurul, Vice President Business of JCI Petaling Jaya explained, “Imagine a room of up to 24 local business people, all seated in a two groups of 12 persons each facing each other, and every 5 minutes you 'pitch' your business to a different person. It is not enough time to sell your products, but it's long enough for people to decide whether they can trust you and want to build a powerful network with you. This is the platform that everyone is looking for; as it gives you opportunities to develop lucrative long term business relationships.”
JCI PJ Speed Business Networking Event attracted an assortment of different groups of business people, from a vast array of industries. There were CEOs of interior design factory; café; and Event Company; Mortgage Broker, e-Learning consultants, and even a Makeup Artist. All participants of the JCI PJ Speed Business Networking sure did get their money’s worth, paying only RM49 (non JCI member) or RM29 (JCI member) and getting tea break, lucky draw and a handful of business contacts at the end of the event.
Madam Lee Kooi Lan, from Nefful (M) Sdn Bhd said; “Thank you for organising such an interesting event! It's very fruitful to me. I realised how many people were unaware of my negative ions garment. Only one (1) of the participants has heard of my product in the market! It's great news. Now I will have a vast opportunity to share my products with people.”
JC Lim Hooi Hooi, President of JCI Petaling Jaya said; "This is the first time JCI PJ organised such event, and all the participants left with new business contacts and network. Congratulations to the JCI PJ Business Team for the success of this event. Let’s keep moving...FORWARD".
